Relationship Between Nurses' Ethical Care and Parental Satisfaction of Children Admitted to the Bouali Educational and Therapeutic Center in Ardabil City in 2023

Abstract
Introduction: Care, as a moral virtue, constitutes the essence and key element of nursing care, and this brings satisfaction to the parents of hospitalized children. Therefore, the present study was conducted to determine the relationship between the Nurse's Ethical care of nurses and the satisfaction of parents of hospitalized children in Northwest Iran.

Methods and Materials: This descriptive correlational study was conducted in Northwestern Iran, Ardabil City, in 2023. The study included 200 nurses and 160 parents of children hospitalized in a specialized pediatric center, selected through census and stratified random sampling. Questionnaires (demographic information of nurses and parents, Pediatric ethical care, and satisfaction of parents) were used to collect data. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 26 software and descriptive and analytical statistics, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and linear regression.

Results: Among the samples, 85% of nurses and 95% of parents reported their levels of ethical care and satisfaction, with nursing care rated at an average level. The results of the simple linear regression test indicated a positive and significant correlation between ethical care from nurses' perspective and parental satisfaction (r = 0.47; p = 0.001). Among the components of ethical care, the lack of attention to emotional needs emerged as the strongest predictor of parental satisfaction, accounting for 11% of the variance in satisfaction levels.

Conclusion and Discussion: Considering the importance of ethical care and parental satisfaction in delivering comprehensive care and enhancing the well-being of hospitalized children, the findings of this study can inform decision-makers and policymakers within the healthcare system about the current state of family-centered care, as reflected by the satisfaction levels of parents with children admitted to medical education centers.
