other Level of Motivation for Suicide Attempts Among Suicidal Patients Hospitalized in Medical Centers in Isfahan <div style="text-align: justify;">Introduction: Suicide is one of the most important causes of death worldwide. Intensity weakness and fluctuations in motivation can put people at risk of suicide. Therefore, it is very important to investigate and monitor the level of motivation to commit suicide in these patients. The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of motivations for suicide attempts in suicidal patients. Methods and Materials: This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 35 patients who attempted suicide. The samples were selected using the convenience sampling method. The research tools in this study included the demographic characteristics form and the May and Klonsky Inventory of Motivations for Suicide Attempts. Data were analyzed using statistical methods and SPSS version 22 software. Results: The average age of the patients was 34 years, and the majority were women. Among the participants, 55% were married and 45% were single. Also, 43% were employed, and the rest were unemployed. Moreover, 14% of the participants had below diploma education, 60% had a diploma, and 26% had a university education. The average score of motives to attempt suicide in patients who attempted suicide was 140.16. Conclusion and Discussion: The findings of this study exhibit that the motivations for suicide attempts are relatively high in patients who attempt suicide.
